Can it work automatically ie, on detecting motion, will it follow the object by itself? because no operator will be present for the task.

Auto Tracking usually refers to the CCTV ability to detect and track an object of a specified or larger size. Third party software also allows for the tracking of objects on non-auto-tracking CCTV.
